The active ingredient consists of a conventional quaternary ammonium  salt bonded to a silane molecule and linked to a long molecule chain.

The silane base of the molecule enables the antimicrobial coating to anchor securely onto the substrate providing long lasting antimicrobial protection.







 

The positive charge of the molecule attracts the negatively charged  membrane and pulls the microbe closer to the long molecular “sword” of the the coating, penetrating the lipid membrane or envelope and destroying it.

The coating can withstand friction very effectively, making it a great advantage for its durability. The antimicrobial action process transfers nothing from the microbe into the antimicrobial molecule, so the coating will continue its activity in full capacity.
